Music, Video, and Pictures

The Music, Video, and Pictures module (MVP) provides for many different features.

- Music Playlists
- Access content from a UPnP media server like a Media Center notebook/desktop on the same home network
- Access online photos from a Snapfish account
- Listen to Internet radio stations using Pandora's online service
- Create videos using the built-in HP webcam

The Music, Video, and Pictures module can be configured in several ways. To launch the configuration screen, click the "wheel" icon at the top right of the QuickPlay screen.

Karaoke Module

The Karaoke module allows user to sing with Webcam On/Off or choose Slideshow mode. When webcam is on, user can see himself/herself singing with lyrics on screen. When webcam is off, user can see lyrics with default background. When slideshow mode is used, the playlist currently used in MVP module will playback mutedly with the audio of Karaoke channels.

Configuration Screen

The Karaoke background can be configured from the configuration menu. To launch the configuration menu, click the "wheel" icon at the top right of the QuickPlay screen.

Supported File Formats

QuickPlay karaoke supports the following file formats:

CD+G audio compact disc (if drive supports it)
Karaoke DVD
MPG+G (.cdg)
MPG3+text (.lrc)
MIDI karaoke (.kar)
Other formats from HDD mpeg, dat, vob

Karaoke Limitations

The following are limitations of the QuickPlay Karaoke module:

When recording Karaoke singing, the recorded music may not be clear as it’s recorded from Microphone, not from the file directly.
QP does not support Karaoke files autoplay (open with “file”) (e.g. kar, lrc, mp3+g, cd+g).

Updating HP QuickPlay

Updating HP QuickPlay is easy. First, navigate to one of the modules. Then click the "wheel" icon to bring up the settings menu. Finally, select the "update" option from the context menu.

Selecting the Update option will display the updates and enhancements screen. This screen allows the user to download any available add-ons such as for video editing and different skins.

Select the "Get the Latest QuickPlay Updates" option from the left menu. If there is a new update, a download option will be displayed.
