Few difficult issues and easy solutions

Issue 1: When we try to send and receive emails using Windows mail or Outlook express, it comes up with an errror message and Windows mail ( outlook) crashes.

Error message: 0x800CCC0F

Issue explained by customer: Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'cjkirkland@earthlink.net Mail Account', Server: 'pop.earthlink.net', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10053, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F

Cause: This issue may occur if the customer has Norton Antiviurs , Norton 360, F secure or Webroot antispyware.

Antivirus or security program blocks the all incomming and outgoing ports of the operating system for information exchange with server.

Solution: Disable the Antivirus and close all it's services, then try to send and receive emails. You will be able to send and receive emails without any issue. This issue caused by Antivirus program. Antivirus program needs to be configured to send /receive emails. So, you need to contact your antivirus program vendor. They will help you in configuring the Antivirus to avoid the error message.
